July 2015 Stitch Fix

July 2015 Stitch Fix Review

Any purchases I make from Stitch Fix, I do so with my own money. This is not a sponsored post, but this post may contain affiliate/referral links. (You can find out more about affiliate links in my Disclosure Policy.)

I can’t believe we are into July already! It’s Summer! My kiddos are all home- all day and we’ve been having a blast. We love picking fresh fruits from local orchards this time of year for yummy pies and desserts and we also stay pretty busy in our garden. Of course there are going to be trips to the beach, amusements parks, camping and of course a few county fairs to attend. I couldn’t wait to see what I got in my fix this month because I need some summery type items!

If Stitch Fix is new to you, let me fill you in on the important and fun details! Stitch Fix is a personal styling service that ships hand picked items to your doorstep. When you head over to StitchFix.com and sign up for a “fix”, you fill out your style profile and choose a day you would like to receive your fix. When you schedule your fix ( I schedule one per month, but you can do more or less), you are charged a $20 styling fee. When your Stitch Fix arrives, you have 3 days to try everything on and decide what items you would like to keep and which items you would like to send back in the enclosed prepaid envelope. You don’t have to lose your $20 styling fee either! You can apply that towards any purchase! If you love and purchase your whole “Fix” you get 25% too! You can check out my past “Fixes” HERE.

Here’s My July Stitch Fix:

Ardenas Split Neck Blouse: $58

Ripping open the tissue paper to see what’s in the Stitch Fix Box is pretty exciting to me. It’s like Christmas! When I saw the colors of this blouse I was hoping it would work out. It can be worn with jeans casually which I like. What I loved most about this blouse was that it made me feel pretty.  It was feminine with a nice pattern (which I love to hide any little rolly parts!) that was not too flashy. It’s light, a little flowy and great for summer!

Pixley Ashton Crochet Lace Kimono: $48

This month I specifically asked my stylist to include something a little lacy and super feminine in my fix. I was thrilled when I got this and it’s just perfect!

I really like purchasing pieces that can be worn with several different things and I love a nice cover up/ sweater/shirt that I can through over a tank in the evening when it gets a little chilly. This lovely kimono is hand wash too! Great for me because I really don’t make regular trips to the dry cleaners. I’m pretty simple with my clothing that way.

Gilli Gary Dress: $54

This dress! I had seen other women try this on as part of their fix, and was a little excited because people rave about how flattering and comfortable it is. I liked the black top part, but there was something about this dress that I didn’t like- maybe the bottom material? Of course I put it on to make sure. While this dress was flattering, I felt really busty! I know I have a large chest, but I almost felt like it was a little showy or something. Maybe if it was sleeveless I would have felt like your eyes weren’t drawn there…I don’t know. I didn’t quite know where I would wear it either- definitely not on a trip to the grocery store! I felt like it was a little more than casual. While it’s great to have a dress on hand for a little bit of a special occasion, I liked this…I didn’t LOVE it.

Zad Cressy Multi-Strand Bracelet: $28

Cressy Multi-Strand Bracelet

I was a little surprised by this bracelet.  It is very, very colorful, which is nice for Summer, but the jewels were gaudy and some of the strands were like some of my daughter’s thread bracelets she makes. I felt like it was chunky and I like daintier pieces of jewelry. I don’t wear jewelry that much and I am not looking for a huge statement piece. My 12 year old absolutely loved it though!

19 Cooper Sharon Ruffle Detail Blouse: $64

I like a nice blouse and I was anxious to try this one on because it had the ruffles in the front. I don’t have anything like that.  I do however have several blouses I’ve kept from previous fixes that are navy in color. This blouse was pretty and comfortable, but I felt like it was too similar to others in my closet. I don’t wear blouses on a daily basis and this one was dry clean…

Overall I loved this fix. I am so pleased with the 2 pieces I kept and I love that my stylist continually checks my Style Board on Pinterest to see what I am looking for. She aims to please! 😉

I’m just starting with stitchfix so I was looking at your review. I think that dress was very flattering and you looked great in it. I loved the light colors of that summery top you picked but I don’t think it flattered your figure as much as the blue top with ruffles you decided to ditch.

Hi Krista! Thank you:) I know- I was torn with that blue blouse, but I liked the colors of the other top better…the fact that the blue top was dry clean only made me send it back and lean more towards the other one. As far as the dress, it’s probably one of those items I am going to wish I kept. You know how that goes. Maybe I will ask for something similar again! I hope you are enjoying your fixes! Have a great rest of the week!

I love seeing pics from someone other than a size zero. You are gorgeous, and personally, I think you looked killer in that dress! 🙂 Thanks for the posts, I’m a new fan.

Another great Fix! The dress is flattering, but I see what you mean about feeling top-heavy. The v-neck is very accentuating! SO jealous that you received the Pixley kimono; I’ve been coveting it for months.
