Holiday Snack Mix

December 6, 2013 by Shannon

I really like homemade snack mixes!  You can mix together your family’s favorite ingredients and even make special mixes for certain events or Holidays.  By preparing your own mixes, you also save a little money at the grocery store.  Full of festive colors, and aromas, this simple Holiday Snack Mix is a nice treat to set out for your guests and is sure to be a hit!  This mix is full of honey roasted peanuts, pomegranate and cherry infused cranberries, pumpkin seeds, sliced almonds, semi sweet and white chocolates and has a delicious hint of orange flavor in every bite from fresh orange zest.  You can even package this tasty, homemade snack in mason jars, wrap with a bow and present it as a gift to someone special this year.  I like to package this mix in small baggies so my children to bring it to school for snack time.  Just be advised that this mix is truly addicting!  I think I saw my husband go in and out of the kitchen at least a 5 times sneaking handfuls!  When a lot of recipes this time of year are very time consuming, it’s so nice to have a few quick recipes on hand that you can whip up in a couple of minutes.  Enjoy!

Oh my! You have truly answered my question on what to give the neighbors this year …in a jar. This is perfect! I’m going to make a huge load, of course. Because, I will be munching on this a lot! Thank you for sharing this snack mix at the Show Stopper Saturday party, Shannon! (=

This looks so good and it would be the perfect little Christmas gift for friends or neighbors! I am always buying the snack mixes from Target, and seriously need to start making my own!

Thank You Maria! I use to buy mixes a lot, but as my children get older, we were going through them fast and I figured I better just make my own. I think this is my favorite mix and it does makes a great gift! The orange zest just adds a little something that puts it over the top:)
