Warm Up with Marie Callender's Pot Pies

Brrr…the cold weather has officially arrived in Western New York, along with a few inches of snow!  I was proud of myself because I was actually pretty prepared for the first snowfall this year.  I made sure all of my children had new boots ready to go and I hung all of their winter coats, hats, mittens, scarves and gloves in our mudroom so they would stay nice and toasty when the snow started to fall.   I even made sure that I had a freezer full of comforting meals stocked up, including a few of Marie Callender’s Pot Pies!

Marie Callender's Family Chicken Pot Pie

Let’s get started by saying how much I love Pot Pies!  I don’t think there is a more comforting meal out there!  When I was little, my mother worked outside of the home.  There wasn’t always a lot of time available for her to spend in the kitchen after work, but on most days we had a homemade meal waiting for us at the dinner table.  As a single mother of 3 children, it was always important to her that we take the time to eat a comforting meal together as a family every evening.  Every once in a while, when the evening was busy with school concerts or extra curricular activities, she baked us ready-made, wholesome Chicken Pot Pies.  I never once felt that this meal was not as good as any of the others, I actually really enjoyed it!  Pot Pies are warm, comforting and made a perfect dinner on those busy nights.  Even today, the thought of a pot pie right from the oven makes me think of home.

Adding a quick Egg Wash to Marie Callender's Pot Pie

I am fortunate enough to have a job that allows me to stay home with my children.  I can make dinner during nap time or in between photographing or writing if I need to.  Even though I might have a little more time to spend in the kitchen than my mother did all of those years ago, there are still days when my dinner plans just don’t go as planned.  For those days, my family and I love the NEW Marie Callender’s Family Chicken Pot Pies!

Piercing the top of Marie Callender's Pot Pie Crust

These Family Size golden, made from scratch, perfectly flaky crust Pot Pies are filled with tender all white meat chicken and tasty vegetables in a homemade gravy that gives you a true sense of homemade.  All you have to do is open one or 2 boxes, brush a little egg wash on top of them if you want to and put them right in the oven to bake.  This gives you plenty of time to get cleaned up, unwind from your busy day and then sit down to a cozy, warm, homemade style meal that your whole family will enjoy.

Warm, Delicious Marie Callender's Family Chicken Pot Pie

These tasty Marie Callender’s Family Chicken Pot Pies can be found right in your freezer section at Walmart!  I always make sure that I head down that aisle every time I am grocery shopping this time of year (along with a stop in the Walmart Bakery for a few of the Demi Baguettes), so I have a great meal in my freezer ready to go.

Find Marie Callender's Pot Pies at Walmart

Especially with the unpredictable Winter weather we have here near Buffalo, it’s always best to stay ahead of the game and be prepared.  When visibility is reduced to 1/4 of a mile or less, there will be no quick trips to the store, so I better have something to warm my family up with for dinner!  The next time you are out grocery shopping, make sure you grab a Marie Callender’s Family Pot Pie for a warm dinner this Season!
