Running out of things to do with your children indoors? Have family game time! With four children we have a rather large collection of games and sometimes they just sit on the shelf. Sure, they play them here and there, but I wanted to make an event out of it. Since there was no school today we decided to do this after lunch. I let each child pick a game they each wanted to play. We all played, but they were in charge of setting up “their own” game and keeping score of that game if needed. There was no arguing over who did what because they each had “their own game”. The person who won the most games got to pick what kind of cookies we were going to bake later and we enjoyed them with hot chocolate. We had so much fun! I think setting aside the time and making it an event turns it into something a little more special. If you aren’t home during the day, have family game night on the weekend. Plan for it during the week and have something to look forward to with your family this weekend. What are you family’s favorite games to play?
