As I sip my coffee this morning the squirrels around my house are gathering their nuts and are a reminder that winter is well on its way. If you haven’t done so already, before the snow falls it’s an excellent time to stack wood for your fires this winter. This year we have been blessed once again with a rather mild start to winter which allows us more time to prepare. Where ever you choose to stack wood, it is always nice to do it in a timely fashion. At our house, this consisted of operating a wood line. Everyone stood in a line stretched from the porch all the way to where ever the wood was and you get stacking. Passing it to one another to get the job done quicker. At first no one ever really wanted to do it, but more times than not it turned into fun. Making up your own games as you pass along the wood or even singing a silly song. So grab your family and prepare for the winter together.
