The colder weather is right on our doorstep, so now is the time to get our homes prepared. Making sure your heating system is cleaned and working properly is a must, but ensuring that your thermostat is in tip top shape is important too. You want your heat output to be efficient and controlled because in the long run that’s what will save you money and keep your family and home comfortable. It came with a cover plate which I really liked because it hid the ugly paint color that was behind the old one. My husband hooked up the new wires and snapped the thermostat into the back plate. We waited a few minutes message came on, “Touch to Begin.” Who knew thermostats could be so exciting?!

After the simple installation and setup (programming our desired temperature settings for the times when we are home, away and sleeping), I downloaded the Wiser Air app on my phone. This allows you to control your whole home heating (or cooling) system with a touch of a button from anywhere!

I then entered our home Wi-Fi  information into the thermostat and synced it with my phone. We were all set! There are so many different ways you can set your thermostat too. Changing it is as simple as using an up or down arrow and if you just happen to have a chill, you don’t have to reset everything. You can just turn up the heat for a few minutes to warm up. It really allows you to cater to your own personal needs.

Now this thermostat has a beautiful and very modern touch screen that I love. It’s also motion activated so when you walk into the room it lights up for you. You will see the current room temperature along with a smaller area that displays the current outdoor weather temperature and conditions. With colder air coming over the Great Lakes this past weekend, I was surprised to see a Lake Effect Snow Warning being displayed across the bottom of the screen. How neat?!

Our thermostat is located right inside our mudroom and above our coat hooks. It’s the first place we go to when we come into the house and the last place we go when we are leaving. It’s so convenient to be able to check the weather on your way out the door! I never thought I would be so impressed by a thermostat, but this one has far exceeded my expectations. I’m finding cool little things that it does everyday. By the way, my children are getting ready extra early for school to make sure they too can check the weather on their way out the door!
