You know the kind of day when you are nonchalantly browsing through your cupboards looking for something chocolaty? Well, I had that kind of day today and the Halloween candy in my cupboard just wasn’t going to cut it. I really wanted something with a deep, dark chocolate flavor. Sitting in my baking cupboard was Special Dark Cocoa and bag of Special Dark Chocolate Chips that I bought the last time I was at the grocery store. I felt like they were calling my name! Before the children got home from school, I whipped up a few dozen of these delicious Special Dark Chocolate & Walnut Cookies. They turned out wonderful, made my house smell amazing and were just what I was looking for! Crisp on the outside, chewy chocolate goodness on the inside and loaded with dark chocolate chips and walnuts make these my new favorite chocolate cookies. When my boys came through the front door, they couldn’t wait to put their things away and give these a taste. Warm cookies with a cold glass of milk is definitely a special after school snack! The next time you are craving some chocolate and nothing in your cupboard will do, give this recipe a try. I promise you won’t be sorry!

Cookies are great, aren’t they? They can be eaten for a simple dessert, a quick snack or even a treat with your morning coffee. With all of the apple baking I did last week, I decided to bake something without apples yesterday. I didn’t have anything in mind really, just something that I could make without having to go to the store. When I grocery shop, I usually browse around in the baking section and see what kind of new or seasonal goodies they have. It seems like that section is getting bigger at my local store and I love it. It’s really fun to have a nice selection of different flavored chips and candies that you can add to some homemade cookies. I like to grab whatever catches my eye or that looks good so I have it on hand for later.

My family really likes peanut butter, so I already had peanut butter chips and a bag of these Reese’s Pieces in my cupboard. These large Peanut Butter Lover’s Cookies are crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside, swirled with peanut butter, peanut butter chips, and packed with Reese’s Pieces. What more could a Peanut Butter Lover want? You will definitely want a tall glass of cold milk when enjoying these cookies:) These cookies are the perfect colors for fall and are a sweet surprise in your little one’s lunch box. This recipe makes about 2 1/2 dozen large cookies, and they are, of course, freezer friendly! Bake up a batch today!

Well, it’s that time of year again. Back to School for the kiddos. I have a few weeks left before my children go back, but last week I was in preparation mode. Preparation for everyone’s schedules, planning meals, purchasing school supplies and coming up with great after school snacks. Maybe it’s just me, but I am the happiest person in the world when I am prepared and my home is well organized . I love everything to have it’s own place and things just seem to flow better when I am not a frazzled mess. After a full week of thorough cleaning, sorting and organizing, my house and family are now ready to start a new school year. My children thought we should reward ourselves for all of our hard work. I thought that sounded like a great idea, and what better way to do that than with some yummy homemade cookies!

These White Chocolate Biscoff Cookies are going to be one of my new go to recipes. My new love for Biscoff spread prompted me to somehow incorporate that great flavor into some cookies. These cookies have a nice crunch when you bite into them, and a delicious, chewy inside. The white chocolate blended with Biscoff and cinnamon make a cookie that is perfect to go along with your morning coffee or a glass of milk. Your house will smell heavenly as these cookies bake in the oven. This recipe makes about 4 dozen cookies, so you can freeze about half of them for later. Although the after school snacks I tend to prepare for my children are usually pretty healthy, I may just have to serve these on a Friday for a special treat!
